QUALITY

Quality starts with daily management

From farm management and size grading to pre-shipment checks, Hongping assesses quality through farming experience and on-site judgment, using third-party testing as an objective reference.

Understanding eel sizes from the farm onward

During grow-out, we separate eels into ponds and grade them several times to track the size distribution in each pond. At shipment, we grade to the customer’s requirements.

We draw on our farming experience every time we grade eels.

Pre-shipment tasting checks

We check every lot ourselves.

We taste the eel to assess its flavor and texture.

Before shipment, we take a sample from the pond. After cooking it, our on-site staff taste it to check whether the flavor, flesh quality and texture meet our requirements.

Third-party testing and supporting evidence

Food safety-related residues must be checked through testing.

The third-party test data currently available cover the following:

  • Malachite green and leucomalachite green
  • Pesticide Residue Testing (Five Compounds)
  • Nitrofuran metabolites
  • Multi-residue testing for veterinary drugs (eel products for export)

Results are interpreted with reference to the sample tested, the test items and the limits specified in the report.

This page describes test items and does not state results for any specific product or lot.
